I’d like to have you (over) for dinner.

2.15.2020 — Print Design for ART 388: Pictures in Space

Celebrated annually for the past century at Middlebury College in Vermont, Winter Carnival is a whirlwind week of midnight sledding, ice sculpting, and bottomless hot cocoa. Posters advertising the event are released in a limited run each year and are often collected by students and faculty for posterity. Winter Carnivore is a playful twist on this iconic tradition. The spoof ad is inspired by the theory that any event—no matter how ridiculous—could draw a reasonably large crowd of mid-winter interaction-starved Middlebury students, so long as it has a colorful poster filled with flashy text. In this case, the event may or may not involve being eaten by a yeti. Type is set in Christmas and Futura.

Yeti anatomy was inspired by the work of Ross Bruggink.
